South Waikato's Next Top Dog Competition
1. Introduction
1.1 These terms and conditions (Terms) govern your participation in the South Waikato's Next Top Dog competition (the Competition) organised by the South Waikato District Council (SWDC) aimed at finding South Waikato's Next Top Dog.
1.2 By entering the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and confirm that all information submitted is true, accurate, and complete. SWDC reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to residents of the South Waikato region only.
2.2 Entrants must be the owner of the dog they are entering into the Competition or have explicit permission from the dog's owner to do so.
2.3 Employees of the SWDC are ineligible to enter.
3. Entry Requirements
3.1 To enter, participants must share a photo of their dog via Facebook Messenger or by commenting on the specified competition post before 4pm, Friday 18 April.
3.2 Entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any third party or contain any objectionable content.
3.3 Participants can submit only one entry per dog. However, individuals owning multiple dogs can enter each dog separately.
3.4 Previous winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place from last year) are not eligible to re-enter.
4. Selection and Voting Process
4.1 The SWDC's Animal Control Team will select the top contenders based on criteria determined at their discretion, including but not limited to appearance, expression, and the photo's ability to convey the dog's personality.
4.2 The top selected dogs will be subject to a public vote via likes/reacts on Facebook, determining the final ranking of the top three dogs.
4.3 In the event of a tie, the SWDC reserves the right to make the final decision.
5. Prizes
5.1 The top three dogs will receive complimentary dog registrations from the SWDC for the following year. The First placed dog will become the face of any dog related messaging for the next year.
5.2 Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the SWDC.
5.3 Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 By entering, participants grant the SWDC a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, and display the submitted photos in any media for promotional and other purposes.
7. Privacy
7.1 Personal information collected from participants will be used solely in connection with the Competition and as detailed in these Terms, and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent.
8. General
8.1 The SWDC reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these Terms without notice in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or outside the reasonable control of the SWDC.
8.2 The decision of the SWDC in respect of all matters to do with the Competition will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
8.3 This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. Participants release Facebook from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with their participation in this Competition.
9. Acceptance of Terms
9.1 Participation in the Competition constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and to the SWDC's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Competition. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
