Whakamaru

While the village itself lies beyond our district boundary, there is still plenty of Whakamaru to enjoy. The everso scenic area along Ongaroto Road has been the location for Hollywood films, family camping and boating fun. The Managakino section of the Waikato River Trails runs alongside the river and the view from atop the Ongaroto Bluffs Staircase is a beauty.
