Terms and Conditions – International Water Day Poster Competition
1. Eligibility
- The competition is open to students aged 10 to 12 years in the South Waikato District.
- Entries must be completed as a group project, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 participants per team.
2. Competition Period
- The competition opens on 25 February 2025 and closes on 14 March 2025.
- Late entries will not be accepted.
3. Theme
Wai Ora – Protecting Our Water for Future Generations
- Posters should reflect the importance of water and how we can protect it for the future.
4. Entry Requirements
- Posters must follow the competition criteria (attached separately).
- Entries must be original and created entirely by the participants. No plagiarism or AI-generated content.
- Each entry must include the team name, names of team members, and school year on the back.
5. Submission Guidelines
- Posters must be submitted by email to sheshant.kumar@southwaikato.govt.nz or delivered to a Council Customer Service Centre by 14 March 2025.
- Only one entry per team is allowed.
6. Judging Criteria
Posters will be judged on:
- Relevance to the theme – how well it connects to Wai Ora – Protecting Our Water for Future Generations.
- Creativity and originality – fresh, engaging ideas.
- Message clarity – how clear and easy to understand the message is.
- Visual impact – overall look and appeal of the poster.
7. Prizes
Winners will receive one of the following prizes:
JB Hi-Fi Gift Cards
Water Bottles
Stationery Packs
Hot Chocolates
- Prizes will be awarded to the top entries, and the decision of the judges is final.
- Winners will be announced on 21 March 2025 at the World Water Day celebration at the Council.
- Winning students will be contacted directly.
8. Permissions and Rights
- By entering, participants agree that their artwork may be displayed, shared online, or used in South Waikato District Council publications.
- The South Waikato District Council reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not follow the rules.
