PUBLIC NOTICE - Water supply in Putāruru

The township of Putāruru is currently being supplied with water from the Glenshea bore site only. Normally the town’s supply is more or less 50/50 from Glenshea and the Blue Spring/Te Waihou. However, we have had to take the Blue Spring supply offline.

A rockslide and landslip on the walking track at Te Waihou between the Leslie Road entrance and the headworks site several days ago has made access difficult for staff to service the site.

Supplying the entire town from one source has been done in the past and shouldn’t pose a supply problem. Water use tends to be lower in Winter, but we do ask users to not be wasteful of water over the coming weeks.

At this stage, we don’t know how long this will be in place for. Our team will remain on top of any supply issues.
