The Dog Control Fees for the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, authorised by the South Waikato District Council pursuant to Section 36 of the Dog Control Act 1996 are shown below:
Registration fees | 2023-24 |
Selected owner in urban area | $88 |
Spayed or neutered | $123 |
Standard registration fee – rural | $77 |
Standard registration fee – urban | $176 |
Dangerous dogs | 150% of the fee that would apply if the dog was not classified as dangerous |
Menacing dogs | Normal fee |
Penalty on Registration fees if paid after 31 July in registration year (per dog) | 50% of normal fee |
