Work is set to begin around the demolition of two buildings previously used by sporting clubs in the South Waikato.
From next week, contractors will start with the asbestos removal in the Pirates Rugby Club in Tokoroa and AFC Rangers Club in Putāruru with both buildings set to be fully demolished thereafter.
The removal, demolition or sale of these buildings was announced back in August as part of the building rationalisation project taking place throughout the South Waikato.
Council will provide ongoing updates on the works when timeframes are confirmed.
