Proposed Fees and Charges 2022-23 - consultation

Every year South Waikato District Council is required to consult on fees and charges for regulatory services, water supply, trade waste, solid waste and parks and reserves, but regularly chooses to consult on all its Fees and Charges.

Council spokesperson, Kerry Fabrie explained that Council usually increases its fees each year based on an estimate of general inflation and sector specifics (eg, government waste levies). The majority of fees for the 2022-23 year are unchanged from what was adopted through the Long Term Plan (LTP 2021-31).

“There are exceptions to this in four service areas - transfer stations, building, resource management and the South Waikato Sport and Events Centre,” advised Ms Fabrie.

Council encourages its community to make a submission on its proposed fees and charges for the 2022-23 year by visiting its website: www.southwaikato.govt.nz. Click on Community Engagement (button under the search bar).

Consultation closes Thursday 7 April 2022.
