PUBLIC NOTICE - 13 October 2021
CHANGES TO THE SOUTH WAIKATO DISTRICT PLAN
Pursuant to Section 55(2A) of the Resource Management Act 1991, the South Waikato District Council hereby gives public notice that on 9 September 2021 it resolved to amend the South Waikato District Plan provide consistency with Clause 3.38 of the National Policy Statement on Urban Development 2020. The amendment consists of removing the rules requiring a minimum number of car parks to be provided for development, land uses or activities in the Tokoroa Business zone, Tokoroa Residential zone, and the Industrial zones in Tokoroa and at Kinleith.
Pursuant to Section 58I 3)e) of the Resource Management Act 1991, the South Waikato District Council also hereby gives public notice that on 9 September 2021 it resolved to amend the South Waikato District Plan to provide consistency in part with Clause 14.1 of the National Planning Standards 2019 (NPS). The amendment consists of replacing the previous definition of “Building” in Chapter 9 of the Plan with the definition of “Building” from the Definitions list in the NPS, which is:
“Building means a temporary or permanent movable or immovable physical construction that is:
- partially or fully roofed, and
- is fixed or located on or in land, but
- excludes any motorised vehicle or other mode of transport that could be moved under its own power”.
