Water pipe burst in Putāruru - please reduce water use today!

Council is asking residents and businesses in the Arapuni St - Grey St - Totara St Putāruru area to minimise their water use for the rest of today due to a burst sewer pipe in Arapuni St. The pipe is part of the rising main from the Grey St pump station so, while it is being repaired, tanker trucks are having to empty the pump station continuously. Miniming water use will reduce the amount of waste water having to be tankered out to the treatment plant. Crews are busy repairing the break and a traffic diversion is in place at the top of Arapuni St. We will advise when the pipe has been repaired and normal water use can resume. Thank you.
