Thinking of standing for Council
If you are thinking of standing for South Waikato District Council in the upcoming local government elections you are encouraged to attend the South Waikato Candidate Information Session.
"This session reviews the Candidate Information Handbook in detail, explains key dates, processes and requirements and is a great opportunity for prospective candidates to find out more and ask questions before they commit to standing," said Judith Cuttriss, Council's Deputy Electoral Officer.
The session will be held at the South Waikato Sport and Events Centre on Wednesday 13 July from 7pm to 9pm.
Warwick Lampp from Electionz.com has been contracted to manage the South Waikato District Council elections and will be delivering the bulk of the presentation that will guide candidates through the process. Council's Chief Executive Craig Hobbs will provide a high level overview of Council's structure and processes.
If you are thinking of standing, this session is for you. Information regarding standing for Council is also available on Council's website.
Nominations open on Friday 15 July.
