Parks and Reserves Contract changes
With the current parks and reserves contract expiring this year, the South Waikato District Council has tendered a new parks contract and upon review has awarded the contract to Downer.
The contract will start 1 November, 2018. This will see the partnership with Downer who is already our roading contractor strengthen.
Downer has relevant experience in parks and reserves maintenance for a number of local authorities nationwide.
The parks contract was previously held by RYH Contracting 2015 Ltd since 2014.
The Parks and Reserves Manager, Phil Parker thanked RYH Contracting 2015 Ltd for their ongoing efforts during the tenure, noting that parks, cemeteries and sportsgrounds have consistently scored well in our community surveys.
"As part of the tender process, we reviewed the existing contract's levels of service and identified areas that could be improved to better align with the community's expectations of our park and reserves," Parker said.
"We are looking forward to this further partnership alongside Downer to achieve these expectations."
Council and Downer will be working together on co-branding for clothing and vehicles to ensure workers are more identifiable.
