Congratulations Tokoroa Library - three awards!

Congratulations to the Tokoroa Library team for picking up three awards at the Raukawa Māori Language Awards held at the South Waikato Sport and Events Centre last Friday.

"The library team has certainly done themselves and Council proud," said Council's Chief Executive Craig Hobbs. "They have been a stalwart in this event since inception several years ago; always bringing home a trophy or two or three!"

The Library Team won top spot in the Business Window Display category (Te Tira Umanga); Community Groups (Te Hapori Whānui) and the Supreme Award (Ngā Tohu Rangatira Mō Te Wiki Reo Māori).

"The Council Library team is proud to take part in the Te Reo Language Awards," said Library Team Leader. "Playing our small part in keeping the Māori language award is important. Our team has a fantastic time putting the programmes together and delivering them to our engaged community is very special."
