April 4 weather update

MetService New Zealand has issued a severe weather warning for parts of our District, with the warning now in place until 11pm Friday.
What this means:
- Expect heavy rainfall (90-120mm).
- Streams and rivers may rise rapidly.
- Ground will be saturated. Surface flooding and/or slips possible.
- Difficult driving conditions possible.
What to do:
- Clear your drains and gutters to prepare for heavy rain.
- Avoid low-lying areas.
- Drive with caution.
- Report downed trees, slips, flooding or other issue to Council on 07 885 0340.
- Dial 111 in an emergency.
