Public Notice - Resource consent application
PUBLIC NOTICE
South Waikato District Council has received an application from Tahua Properties Limited for a resource consent to establish and operate a Starbucks coffeehouse and Burger King restaurant with dual drive-through facilities at 69A Main Road, Tīrau. A full copy of the application including plans are provided on Council’s website.
Resource consent is required as the application is unable to comply with the relevant District Plan rules and performance standards. The application includes an assessment of environmental effects. The subject land is zoned Tīrau Residential and the proposed activity is provided overall as a Discretionary activity within the District Plan.
The application may be inspected at www.southwaikato.govt.nz (just under the search bar) or Council offices in Tokoroa, Putāruru or the Tīrau Information Centre (at The Dog). Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that:
- adversely affects the environment; and
- does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.
You may make a submission by sending a written or electronic submission to Julie Cathie, Resource Consents Officer, South Waikato District Council at Torphin Crescent, Private Bag 7, Tokoroa 3444 (Email: Julie.Cathie@southwaikato.govt.nz). The submission must be provided on Council’s Form 13 format. Copies of this form are available from www.southwaikato.govt.nz, Council’s Tokoroa and Putāruru offices and the Tīrau Information Centre.
Submissions close on 26 July 2024 at 5pm.
You must provide a copy of your submission on Tahua Properties Limited (the applicant), whose address for service is SLR Consulting NZ Limited C/- Samantha Redward, 201 Victoria Street West, Auckland 1010, (Email: Samantha.Redward@slrconsulting.com) as soon as reasonably practicable after serving your submission on South Waikato District Council.
