Council Chief Executive resigns after almost seven years
David Hall, who has been Council's Chief Executive for nearly seven years, has resigned; effective from 9 May 2013.
His Worship the Mayor, Neil Sinclair thanked Mr Hall for his dedicated service, "I would like to pay tribute to David for his dedicated service to the South Waikato. Mr Hall is this district's longest serving CE. He has led many a fine achievement over the past years. He is an excellent project manager, one of the best I have seen; having managed the Tokoroa cinema, South Waikato Sport and Events Centre project and more recently his work on the water study for Waikato Mayors."
Mr Hall has enjoyed working in the South Waikato and is very proud of the achievements and successes Council has achieved during his tenure.
"The construction of the South Waikato Sport and Events Centre, ahead of schedule and under budget, is a recent and therefore top-of-mind example," said Mr Hall. "However I will look back with more satisfaction at the consistently high levels of staff satisfaction that have endured over the past seven years, results that are the envy of many New Zealand councils."
"What has been achieved by this Council over the past seven years would not have been possible without the support and dedication of the Council staff, who add to the betterment of the South Waikato each and every day, but whose contribution often goes unappreciated," he concluded.
Mr Hall has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive at Waipa District Council.
Council is currently recruiting and hopes to have made a decision on Mr Hall's replacement by 9 May.
