Tirau roundabout update
News
Works are gathering pace at the site of a roundabout south of Tirau which will replace the intersection of State Highway 1 and 5.
Schick Construction is well advanced on earthworks for the roundabout, which is scheduled for completion mid-year.
The roundabout is being built beside SH1, and a 50km/h speed restriction is in place until the works are finished.
The two pin oak trees planted in the Tirau Reserve, to mark the visit there by the Queen in January 1953, are being retained in the centre of the roundabout and have recently been tidied up by an arborist and given a clean bill of health.
