South Waikato Indoor Pools Upgrade
A $17m upgrade project at the South Waikato Indoor Pools will begin on 3 February 2025, beginning the journey towards the District gaining a much-improved facility which will be fit for purpose long term.
Signaled in the District’s Long Term Plan for 2024-34, the essential works are required in order to future-proof the facility, which the community risked losing if work wasn’t committed to.
The project will take between 12-15 months to be completed, during which time the pool will be closed, although a temporary pop-up option, located at the South Waikato Sport and Events Centre in Tokoroa, will be available for the community to use during this time.
